Facade Improvement Program

Enhance your curb appeal with the City of Lansing’s Facade Improvement Program.

The City of Lansing’s Facade Improvement Program provides targeted assistance for improving the appearance and structural conditions of building facades in highly visible and critical areas of the city. Many businesses in Downtown Lansing would benefit from this support, as the City has allotted a $175,000 total grant amount in the 2023-2024 fiscal year to improve Lansing buildings’ appearances and structures.

Through this program, you could receive funding to help with design assistance; aesthetic facade improvements; or transformational improvements to your exterior commercial facades, to name a few ideas. Grant types include:

  • Aesthetic facade improvements (Up to $10,000)
  • Transformational improvements (Up to $20,000)
  • Design grants (Up to $2,000)

The purpose of this program is to enhance the street appearance of Lansing businesses while providing some critical safety improvements as well. As a result, past recipients have become more attractive to customers and the community, going on to increase the overall value of surrounding local businesses and their entire neighborhood as a whole.
