Oscar Wilde’s celebrated 1895 comedy of manners is a delightfully witty and effervescent satire that skewers the pretensions of Victorian high society. Through its tale of mistaken identities, convoluted courtships, and the importance of always being “earnest,” this enduring theatrical classic offers audiences a sparkling showcase of Wilde’s unparalleled talent for incisive social commentary and uproarious humor.
