LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - A restaurant chain in Lansing wants to make sure children in foster care can find their forever home.
Wendy’s in downtown Lansing is holding a donation drive to help benefit the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. Dave Thomas is the founder of Wendy’s. The foundation is a non-profit that helps find adoptive families for children in the foster care system.
The restaurant went through renovations and is under new family management. The donation drive was one of the ways to celebrate the new renovations and staff.
“It’s part of Dave’s legacy to help find a home for every child in any way we can,” Wendy’s chief operating officer Dave Super said. “We will always try to provide for loving for everybody.”
Some people in downtown Lansing just wanted to support an important initiative, like Marcus Jefferson.
“Every time I get a chance to do anything that deals with foster care and helping young people like that, I come and support,” customer Marcus Jefferson said.
Those who donated received a free combo meal.
