Shakayla Zoss

As the marketing and brand specialist at Downtown Lansing Inc., Shakayla Zoss works to promote and share the stories of the great people, businesses, and attractions that can be found across Downtown Lansing, Michigan’s Downtown. With more than five years of experience working in communications and marketing, her specialties include strategic writing, inclusive communication strategy, social media marketing, and influencer relations.

Before joining DLI, Shakayla worked as a public relations account executive at MHP/Team SI, Arkansas’s largest full-service, data-driven marketing agency. In this position, she created and executed award-winning campaigns and strategies for the agency’s diverse range of clients. 

Shakayla graduated magna cum laude from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 2019, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in mass communication with an emphasis in Strategic Communication and a minor in Marketing. She is a member of the Arkansas Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) chapter and a lifetime member of Kappa Tau Alpha, a national journalism honor society. Before moving to Michigan, she served as program chair on the board of directors for the Rotaract Club of Little Rock for three years and as the Central Arkansas marketing co-chair for the Young Professional Chapter of the Urban League of Arkansas.
