'Foreign Bodies', Curt LaCross' solo exhibition

Join the Lansing Art Gallery for the opening reception for ‘Foreign Bodies’, a solo exhibition by Curt LaCross on Thursday, June 13 from 5 - 7pm.

This exhibition is located in its Mezzanine Gallery. The gallery will host an artist talk with Curt starting at 6pm to hear more about his work.

This event is free and open to the public and light refreshments will be served. It’s a wonderful opportunity to meet the artist while enjoying the work with fellow art lovers and community members!

Speaking of his work, Curt states: “The human being is designed with both positive and negative attributes that play a role in personal development. Each of us manifests the consequences of the exchange between the two influences, both monstrosity and rationality. Interested in these aspects of human nature, I fabricate figures that characterize the human condition. I have developed a body of work whereby the physical manifests the psychoanalytical paradoxes present in the human consciousness. My aim is to construct figures that introduce a dialogue between these paradoxes and polarities.”

Curt LaCross is a Lansing based artist who works in ceramics with a focus on hand-built human figures. While his work focuses on the external form, it speaks of the internal human psyche.

This exhibition will be on view in the Mezzanine Gallery from June 5 - July 27, 2024
