Lansing Art Gallery Closing Reception
This is a celebration, not a funeral, please come dressed in your best and most vibrant apparel, for a fun evening of sharing stories and memories about the Lansing Art Gallery and Education Center over the past 60 years! This event is free and open to the public and light refreshments will be served.
During the event, there will be:

- Pieces from the gallery’s permanent art collection available for purchase - this includes iconic works that have been rotating throughout the gallery in the past 60 years.
- Local arts organizations, REACH, Nelson Gallery, and Greater Lansing Arts Council will be present to provide information about ongoing arts opportunities in the community to reassure artists and art connoisseurs that the Lansing arts community is resilient and remains strong.
- At 7PM there will be special silent auction for Embrace, a sculpture by renowned international artist Mark Chatterly, valued at $14,000, with bidding starting at $4,000.
- The gallery’s last solo exhibition, Dog Days by artist Yve Holtzclaw, will be displayed in the Mezzanine Gallery
