From Lansing to Black Bottom: The Impact of Urban Renewal

Learn the stories of Lansing’s Westside and Detroit’s Black Bottom neighborhoods during “From Lansing to Black Bottom: The Impact of Urban Renewal,” a program at the Michigan History Center, on October 23, 2025, from 1-3 p.m.

The program will include screenings of oral history interviews from the Black Bottom Archives and the Historical Society of Greater Lansing’s documentary called, “They Even Took the Dirt,” as well as a panel discussion with former residents from both neighborhoods.
