River Walk Trash Cleanup
Join us for our monthly ritual of community care: walking the neighborhood and cleaning up litter along the River Walk and surrounding blocks.
This is a low-pressure, family-friendly volunteer event for anyone who wants to do a small, tangible good thing with good people. No experience needed. No long commitment required. Just show up, help out for a bit, and leave the place better than you found it.
Once a month, we head out from the church together to pick up trash and generally beautify our little corner of Lansing. It’s part environmental stewardship, part mutual aid, part just “we live here, and we care about it.”
What to expect
- A relaxed, laid-back pace
- Light walking, bending, and picking up litter
- Always options for lighter duty
- About 60 minutes of activity total
- The knowledge that you’ve done something to help the community
What to bring
- Weather-appropriate clothing
- Comfortable walking shoes or boots
- Gloves (optional, we’ll have some to share)
- Water bottle
We’ll provide trash bags and basic supplies.
