2021 Summer Outdoor Art Encounters Bringing Community and Artists Together

In our twelfth year of public art programming, Lansing Art Gallery & Education Center will present ArtPath for Summer 2021. ArtPath, along 2.5 miles of the Lansing River Trail, from REO Town to Old Town showcases work by Michigan artists whose work tells unique stories. ArtPath will include 20 art installations, artist talks and family-friendly art activities. ArtPath Artist Talks will present an opportunity for the community and gallery members to gather safely at various sites along the trail and engage with the art and artists. ArtPath Artists have been invited to speak about their work at the site of the installation.

Artists will be speaking outside. Participants are encouraged to bring their own seating and creative materials for exploratory art-making inspired by the artwork. ArtPath Artist Talks will take place at 6 PM on Thursdays; June 3, June 17; July 1 & 22; August 5 & 26. ArtPath Art Adventures will offer participants of all ages and abilities activities designed to get people exploring ArtPath along the River Trail. Activities are interactive and will include artmaking. ArtPath Art Adventures will take place at 10 AM Fridays: June 25, July 30 and August 27.

PopUp Art Shops PopUp Art Shops will feature the art, fine craft of Michigan Artists outside, on the sidewalk in front of the gallery - pop-up style. The Gallery team will be able to help shoppers find the perfect work for their home or for a special gift. The PopUp Art Shops will have cards, jewelry, pottery, wood products, hand crafted soaps and more.  PopUp Art Shops will take place 11 AM - 3 PM Thursdays - Saturdays: July 15-17; Aug. 19-21 and Sept. 16-18.
