December Volunteer of the Month: Bob Rose

Window Art DLI

We are proud to honor Bob Rose as our December Volunteer of the Month! As a member of DLI’s Design and Public Spaces Committee, Bob has been a long-time volunteer who is passionate about enhancing Downtown Lansing’s vibrancy and charm. This year, he played a pivotal role in launching one of our exciting new projects: window murals in vacant storefronts.

The project debuted in May during 517 Day and the Best of Lansing Festival, infusing energy and artistry into our downtown spaces. Thanks to Bob’s support and vision, the initiative expanded for Spooky Season, adding a festive and creative flair to the district. Most recently, Bob helped wrap up the project in time for Silver Bells in the City, ensuring the holiday spirit is reflected in beautiful window murals across Downtown Lansing.

This initiative not only beautifies our city but also highlights the incredible talent of local artists. Bob’s hard work and leadership have been instrumental in making this project a reality, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Thank you, Bob, for everything you do to make Downtown Lansing a vibrant, welcoming, and inspiring community for all.

Be sure to keep an eye out for the stunning window murals and let us know which ones are your favorites!
