Downtown Lansing hotel, long known as the Radisson, now has a new name

LANSING — Things are looking a little different at a center city intersection following a long-promised brand change at what was once downtown Lansing's only hotel.

The Radisson sign that has adorned the property at North Grand and Michigan avenue since 1986 came down Friday and was replaced by the DoubleTree by Hilton moniker.

The rebranding was announced in November 2021 after Waramaug Hospitality, a privately held investment company, bought the property, according to information posted on the Downtown Lansing Inc. website. At the time, Waramaug vowed to renovate the hotel and said it eventually would change the brand to DoubleTree by Hilton.

The property is owned by Lansing Hotel Investors, which decided the hotel would join the Hilton portfolio by September 2023, according to a news release from DoubleTree by Hilton. The conversion includes renovations throughout the 257-room hotel, which continues to be operated by Texas-based Aimbridge Hospitality.
