Downtown Lansing’s “New Vision” costs $230 million

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – 3 new projects are coming to Downtown Lansing aiming to create a buzz and draw more people downtown.

The project is said to cost nearly $230 million and of that money $40 million is coming from a state grant. Paul Gentilozzi and his son, John Gentilozzi are planning to build a high rise along with 2 other structures less than a mile from the Capitol.

“As I walk down the middle of the street, in the summer, at noon, there was no one. It was post-COVID and it was very discouraging,” said Paul Gentilozzi.

The Gentilozzi’s have plans to rebuild Downtown Lansing, starting with their New Vision Lansing project. The project is made up of 3 different sites with mixed-use spaces for residential and retail. With concerns about how expensive rent is in Lansing, the project plans to have at least 150 workforce housing units.
