Spring is the perfect time to give our community a fresh, clean start – and you can help! Downtown Lansing Inc. (DLI) is hosting the annual Spring Clean-Up on May 10th at 9:00 AM, and we need volunteers like you to make a difference. This event is all about giving back to the city by cleaning up public spaces, including streets, parks, and alleyways.
Since 1994, local organizations have come together through Lansing Board of Water and Light’s “Adopt A River” to take on sections of the Grand and Red Cedar rivers, restoring their beauty, and keeping them free from litter. Thanks to nearly 500 volunteers each year, thousands of pounds of debris are removed from our rivers and their surrounding areas. This cleanup effort is crucial to maintaining our city’s natural resources and setting a positive example for others. And DLI is doing our part to compliment these efforts by tackling downtown.
The Spring Clean-Up is a fun way to get outside, meet new people, and help keep our beloved downtown thriving. Whether you’re a business, school, or individual volunteer, your contribution makes a huge impact!
