Drinking alcohol would be allowed in designated outdoor common areas under a resolution adopted by Lansing City Council Monday night. The plan which is pending approval by the Michigan Liquor Control Commission, will create zones in the city, known as social districts, where people may eat food and drink alcohol purchased from nearby restaurants and bars.
