It’s a brand-new concept for mid-Michigan: a food incubator being established in Downtown Lansing offering low-risk business expansion for culinary entrepreneurs in a dynamic new shared space.
The Macotta Club was announced last night at Downtown Lansing Inc.’s State of Downtown event. The Macotta Club was born out of interest received from Middle Village Micro-Market as more and more food-based businesses were looking for a low-risk way to expand their business and grow their brand, without jumping right into a bricks and mortar space. As an incubator kitchen, The Macotta Club will offer a 24-month program for culinary startups to operate within a 20,000 square foot space inside the Knapp’s Centre at 300 S. Washington Sq. This program will help culinary entrepreneurs discover their potential while simultaneously demonstrating the potential of Downtown Lansing with a dynamic and lively atmosphere.
The Macotta Club will bring together 15 food concepts, including six restaurants, in one space. Downtown Lansing Inc. already has several businesses interested in joining the incubator.
