LANSING — The 38th Michigan state Christmas tree is slated to arrive in downtown in front of the state capitol this weekend in preparation for the annual Silver Bells in the City lighting ceremony.

The Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget selected a 60-foot spruce from Eagle as this year’s tree. Eagle residents Rich and Dorcas Albertson donated the tree.

The spruce will be harvested Friday and moved to Lansing, arriving about 8:30 a.m. Saturday, to stand in front of the Capitol for the 2024 holiday season.
