Now that fall is upon us, it’s a great time to shop small in downtown Lansing, especially during the upcoming Buy Nearby Weekend! The weekend of Oct. 4-6th is Buy Nearby Weekend, hosted by the Michigan Retailers Association (MRA) to encourage residents to Keep Their Money in Michigan by supporting small businesses and the state’s economy by shopping in their local community.
MRA estimates that Michigan could gain over 15,000 jobs and see a $2.6 billion economic boost if Michiganders were to redirect 0% of their estimated $36.5 billion in out-of-state e-commerce.
