Spooky Season Has Arrived Downtown

Halloween has officially made its way to Downtown Lansing! New festive Spooky Pumpkins from Bronner’s in Frankenmuth are now decorating the Washington Square roundabout, adding a little extra Halloween spirit to the heart of downtown. The colorful ornaments are a fun new addition to the season and the perfect excuse to take a stroll through Washington Square and check them out.

And the spooky fun doesn’t stop there. From zombies to trick-or-treating and costume parties, there are plenty of ways to celebrate Halloween throughout Lansing this October.

Downtown Lansing Zombie Walk
Saturday, October 3 | 3 p.m. | Impression 5 Science Center
Grab your best zombie look and join the annual Downtown Lansing Zombie Walk! The event includes a costume contest and welcomes participants of all ages. Attendees are encouraged to bring a cash or food donation to benefit the Greater Lansing Food Bank. This takes place during How-To Halloween. 

Halloween Deco Extravaganza
Saturday, October 3 | 11-1 p.m., 1:30-3:30 p.m. | Tiny Bit of Wood
Craft delightful Halloween-themed decor items to spookify your home or office! Ages 7 and up, only $30 per person! 

Monster Mash Cookie Blast
Saturday, October 10 | 1 p.m. | CADL Downtown
Get creative in the kitchen and turn ordinary cookies into creepy, cute and delicious monsters. This family-friendly activity is a tasty way to celebrate the season.

Trick or Treat on the Trail
Saturday, October 24 | 1–3 p.m. | Lansing River Trail, Fish Ladder and Benjamin Davis Park
Take your Halloween adventure outdoors with Trick or Treat on the Trail. Families can enjoy trick-or-treating along the trail and explore one of Lansing’s beautiful parks while celebrating the season.

Halloween Bar Crawl
Saturday, October 31 | 4 p.m. | Lansing Shuffle
End the month with a Halloween night out at the Lansing Shuffle. Visit participating bars and enjoy themed cocktails throughout the evening. Costumes are encouraged, so come dressed to impress, scare or simply have some fun.
