This month’s Volunteer spotlight highlights n a volunteer whose dedication to Downtown goes beyond just giving his time—he brings people together, sparks conversations, and supports local entrepreneurs. Marcus Martin has been the emcee of the monthly Downtown Business Huddles since 2022, creating an engaging space for connection and collaboration. Beyond that, he plays a key role in the Middle Village program, helping to review and interview potential participants before they begin their journey. But his support doesn’t stop there. Once entrepreneurs are selected, Marcus continues to connect them—answering questions about business finances, introducing them to the downtown community, and offering advice.
Whether he’s attending business meetings, sharing his insights as both a downtown worker and resident, celebrating new businesses at ribbon cuttings, or serving on the Business Development Committee, Marcus brings his passion for community building to everything he does.
