I like volunteering with Downtown Lansing Inc. because I enjoy being involved in the community and being part of what is happening in downtown Lansing. I have always enjoyed going to downtown events, so getting the opportunity to volunteer and be part of those events has been really rewarding. I like seeing the energy downtown and watching people come out, have fun and enjoy everything the area has to offer.
Volunteering has also given me the chance to meet a lot of different people. I enjoy talking with other volunteers, meeting people in the community and making connections. You never really know who you are going to meet or what conversation might come from volunteering at an event.
But honestly, one of my favorite parts is seeing people enjoy themselves. I like knowing that even in a small way, I am helping create an experience that people will remember. Seeing families, friends and community members come downtown for an event and have a good time is something I really enjoy.
For me, volunteering with DLI is a way to stay connected to the community, meet new people and support the downtown events that make Lansing feel like a community. I enjoy being part of it, and I am always happy when I get the chance to volunteer at another event!
