This Fourth of July and the remainder of the summer is likely to bring high temps to the Greater Lansing area once again. Here is how to beat the heat while enjoying everything Downtown Lansing has to offer.
The City’s annual Independence Day fireworks display will once again be held at 10:00 PM on July 4, 2026, at Adado Riverfront Park. Attendees can attend the show in Adado Riverfront Park itself or from any number of locations throughout Downtown Lansing.
Leading up to the fireworks show at 10:00 PM, the City has a number of other events on Independence Day:
- 11:00 AM – Parade – Capitol Loop
- 12:00 PM – 1776-2026: American Music Tour Concert – Capitol Steps
- Featuring Guy Sferlazza, professional presenter/educator of interactive music and creative arts to inspire, educate, and entertain all ages.
- 5:30 PM – Boom Fest – Lugnuts Stadium
- Boom Ball is baseball reinvented for the modern family night out. Designed from the ground up for family fun. Instead of long stretches of downtime, each inning becomes a high-energy mini-event with music, contests, and surprises that make the experience exciting and easy to follow. Fans will have plenty of interaction with the Lucky Llamas and the Chaos Crew as they make their way through the stands between and during innings. It’s the perfect mix of baseball and live show energy — fun, welcoming, and unforgettable for all ages.
- 7:00 PM – Lansing Concert Band – Adado Riverfront Park
- 8:30 PM – USAF Roots in Blue Band – Adado Riverfront Park
Hot weather has arrived! Here are a few ideas for how you can beat the heat while enjoying everything that Downtown Lansing has to offer:
- Try out hand-dipped ice cream at Babe’s Corner Lansing;
- Grab an iced beverage at the Hob Nob, Strange Matter, Starbucks, or Biggby;
- Enjoy a milkshake or handcrafted ice cream at Browndog at the Shuffle;
- Pick up a popsicle or another other frozen summer staples from the Capital City Market; or
- Treat yourself to a finely crafted (alcohol or non alcohol) cocktail and A/C at many downtown restaurants and bars, such as American Fifth Spirits, Bowdie’s Chophouse, Envie, Kelly’s Downtown Irish Pub & Restaurant, Lansing Brewing Company, Lansing Shuffle, Midtown Brewing Company, MP Social, Nuthouse Sports Grill, or Sidecar Slider Bar.
